Queen Ethelburga’s Pays Tribute with Remembrance Parade
On 10th November 1280 students from Queen Ethelburga’s came together to pay tribute to the heroes that have shaped our history.
The Remembrance Service was a moving reminder of the sacrifices made, and it was made even more special by the combined efforts of the City of York's Pipe Band, QE's Combined Cadet Force and the estates team who painted a large poppy on the grounds.
OC RAF Section for QE CCF, Flt Lt Amy Cox, said of the event:
"The Remembrance Parade was a culmination of the hard work and dedication of the Cadets over a month period. The occasion was marked perfectly and received well by spectators from across the Collegiate. We are extremely proud of all the Cadets, particularly those that had a prominent role to play. Thank you to everyone that took part, including the City of York Pipe Band, Speakers, Trumpeter who played the Last Post and the Wreath Layers from each individual school, something new that was introduced this year."
