A happy childhood begins in the great outdoors and at Chapter House the Forest School is the perfect playground for children to spend their afternoons searching for minibeasts, climbing trees, making dens and hiding from the Gruffalo.
The Forest School is run by our trained Level 3 Forest School Practitioner, Ms. Catton and sessions are planned around the seasons and children’s interests. The Forest School provides your child with the opportunity to play, explore and discover in a natural outdoor environment. Many of the activities include being creative with natural materials, campfire cooking, flora and fauna recognition, and taking risks in a safe environment.

In Kindergarten and Year 1 to Year 5, children attend one half-term block (5 to 6 weeks) of two hour sessions come rain or shine. |
Promoting Hands-On Learning
The forest is a beautiful place for children to develop social and collaborative play. Here, children are encouraged to use the natural environment to build dens or vehicles, and to use their imagination to bring their creations to life. With the support of staff, they are also encouraged to take risks like climbing trees and roasting marshmallows on a campfire.
